Community-driven waste management for a cleaner tomorrow

Formed in 1985, the Solid Waste Disposal Authority is a public, non-profit corporation responsible for the finance and operation of the city and county's solid waste management system. Our mission is to provide environmentally advanced programs while maintaining reasonable waste disposal costs for residents of Huntsville, Madison, and Madison County. Over the years, we have continually evaluated our programs and activities to stay ahead of environment concerns and issues, ensuring that our efforts align with the latest industry standards and regulations.

  • Recycling: We offer residential curbside recycling services, encouraging our residents to reduce their waste by recycling paper, plastic, glass, and metal.
