New River Solid Waste Assoc Landfill

New River Solid Waste Association (NRSWA) has been proudly serving the citizens and businesses of Baker, Bradford, and Union Counties in Florida since 1988. We operate an environmentally friendly waste facility that is committed to protecting environmental resources, pursuing innovative technologies, and educating the public about responsible stewardship of our resources.

NRSWA was formed by the three counties to share the costs associated with solid waste disposal and resulted in the design and construction of the New River Regional Landfill (NRRL) - Florida's first multi-county, regional facility. The NRRL is an integrated solid waste management system located in Union County, Florida, and operates disposal facilities for Class I solid wastes, including handling of special wastes such as waste tires and white goods, as well as 19 rural collection and recycling sites throughout the three member county region.

In addition to our waste disposal services, NRSWA also offers recycling and other environmentally friendly services to help reduce waste and maximize the use of landfill space. We are committed to maintaining reasonable solid waste disposal costs for our member counties and pursuing innovative technologies and methodologies to achieve this goal.

Our Guiding Principles

At NRSWA, we are guided by the following principles:

• Pursuing innovative technologies and methodologies: We are constantly seeking new and innovative ways to reduce waste, maximize the use of landfill space, and maintain reasonable solid waste disposal costs for our member counties.
• Educating the public: We believe that education is key to responsible waste management and are committed to educating the public about the importance of reducing, reusing, and recycling waste.
