Our History
Our story began with Don Hedtke, a local boy who returned from the Korean War with a passion for serving his community. He started hauling ashes (as it was called back then) in an old pick-up truck, collecting cash payments from customers for his services. Over the years, Don's business grew, and he eventually partnered with his brother and a friend to form ACE Solid Waste. The company flourished under their leadership, and in 1992, Andy and Tim Schweizer purchased ACE from Dean Warden and Bill Hedtke.
Under the Schweizer brothers' guidance, ACE continued to grow and expand its services. They invested in new technologies, such as curbside recycling and single-sort recycling, to make it easier for customers to participate in environmentally responsible practices. ACE also introduced yard waste collection carts to make it more convenient for customers to dispose of their yard waste.
